Welcome!

Remembering Opie

Opie was a wonderful dog.
Opie the Wonderful
Opie had a tough start, born with birth defects in his eyes and teeth which left him mostly blind and toothless. He also lived on the streets for many years and suffered a broken leg that never healed correctly, so one leg was always a little crooked and achy.
When we first got him, he was scruffy like a lion but after a haircut he was our dapper dog. Truly the handsomest boy.
Sometimes he got cold ...
Opie in his Blanket
So he wore a lot of shirts.
But he still loved the snow.
Opie in the Snow
He loved to lay on a pillow like a person ...
Opie on his Pillow
But he could also be an excellent pillow for his doggo friends.
Opie as Pixie's Pillow
He loved to lay outside on his special pillow ...
Opie on his Outside Pillow
And also not on his pillow.
Opie on the Porch
He loved to bury his nose under blankets and in corners.
He hated to be left behind ...
Opie in the Suitcase
And he would wait by the door until we returned.
Opie at the Door
He was my sweetest boy, my precious angel, and I miss him every day.
Opie the Snuggle Bunny
If you want to love and be loved in the purest and most intoxicating way possible, adopt a rescue dog. It hurts when they leave you but it's worth it for the time you spend with them.
